Sustainable Periods Project
The Sustainable Periods Project is a gender equality and empowerment initiative focused on adolescent girls and women, situated in the Traditional Authority Lukwa of the Kasungu district. Our project aims to provide accessible, affordable, and eco-friendly menstrual hygiene solutions.
We offer training for young women in the production and distribution of handmade reusable sanitary pads, while also addressing norms around menstruation that hinder equal opportunities for girls, particularly in education. Our goal is to empower women and girls by promoting sustainable menstrual hygiene practices, aligning with our mission to enhance well-being, reduce environmental impact, and foster inclusive communities.
